Snow Guards for Metal Roofs

Keep sliding snow off your steps, car, gardens and gutters. We install snow guards on metal roofs across Southern Ontario, including roofs we didn’t install.

Metal roofs shed snow, which is part of what makes them last. But when a load of snow lets go all at once, whatever is underneath takes the hit. Snow guards hold the snow in place so it melts off gradually instead of sliding off in one heavy sheet.

What Sliding Snow Can Damage

  • Front steps and walkways
  • Cars and driveways
  • Decks, patios and railings
  • Gutters
  • Trees, shrubs and flowerbeds
  • Your neighbour’s property

Two Types, Matched to Your Roof

Colour-matched snow guards for metal shingle roofs (steel or aluminum). Small, discreet guards are fastened in rows above the areas you want to protect, matched to your roof colour.

Rail systems for standing seam roofs. A continuous bar along the roof holds snow back across the whole run.

Replacing Old Plastic Snow Guards

Older roofs were often fitted with plastic guards, back before metal ones were available. Plastic cracks and breaks off over time. We replace them with durable metal guards matched to your roof.

A Few Guards or a Whole Roof

Some homeowners need just a couple of guards over a doorway. Others want full protection along every edge. Many of our own customers add a few after their first winter, once they see where the snow lands. We’ll look at your roof and recommend only what you need.

Book Early

We don’t install snow guards in the middle of winter, and we schedule service calls by area so we can group nearby jobs together. Booking early gives us time to fit your roof in before the snow arrives.
