A log home calls for a metal roof with natural character. This North Bay home had a cedar shake roof, and the owners wanted to keep that look in something that would last far longer. So we replaced the cedar with Classic Aluminum Rustic shingles in Shake Gray.
The Old Cedar Roof
The cedar shakes suited the logs, but they had aged and needed more and more maintenance. Like most cedar roofs, it was nearing the end of its life.
The New Roof
Rustic shingles in Shake Gray keep the look of weathered cedar shake, which suits the logs perfectly. Unlike cedar, though, aluminum won’t split, rot or curl, and it never rusts.
Built for Northern Winters
North Bay winters are long and hard on a roof. Like every roof we install, these panels lock together on all four sides and go directly on the deck with hidden fasteners. As a result, there’s no strapping to rot, no exposed screws to loosen and no loose edges for ice, wind or critters to work under.
