Most roofing photos are taken the day the crew packs up. These weren’t. We photographed this Rustic aluminum metal roof in Markham 10 years after we installed it, still in its original Terra Red.
The Goal: A Roof That Would Stand the Test of Time
The owners wanted a roof they’d never have to think about again. In other words, it had to keep its colour, need almost no upkeep and stand up to Ontario winters year after year.
What We Installed
We installed Classic Aluminum Rustic shingles, which give the look of cedar shake with a deep wood-grain texture. Aluminum never rusts, and the PVDF finish resists fading and chalking. More importantly, like every roof we install, the panels lock together on all four sides and go directly on the deck with hidden fasteners. That means no strapping to rot, no exposed screws to loosen and no loose edges for wind, ice or critters to work under.
The Metal Roof After 10 Years
In the photos, the colour is still even, and there’s no curling, cracking or lifting anywhere on the roof. That’s how a properly installed metal roof should look after 10 years, and this one still has decades ahead of it.
