Up in the Blue Mountains, this ski chalet and its outbuildings had cedar shake roofs that were wearing out. The owners wanted to replace each cedar shake roof without losing the rustic look, and without the upkeep. So we installed Classic Aluminum Rustic shingles in Shake Gray.
The Old Cedar Roof

Years of heavy snow, ice and freeze-thaw cycles had worn down the cedar shakes. Like most cedar roofs, it needed regular repairs, and it was nearing the end of its life.
The New Roof

Classic Aluminum Rustic shingles in Shake Gray keep the cedar-shake look that suits a mountain chalet. Unlike cedar, though, aluminum won’t split, rot or curl, and it never rusts.
Built for Mountain Winters
A ski chalet gets more snow than most homes, so the roof system matters. Like every roof we install, these panels lock together on all four sides and go directly on the deck with hidden fasteners. As a result, there’s no strapping to trap moisture and rot, no exposed screws for ice to work loose and no edges for snow and wind to pry up.
